Through redesign of the existing layout and removal of a small peninsula, the room opened up to accommodate a new 14′ island that is the centerpiece of this kitchen, offering plenty of space for food prep and dining. The pairing of white perimeter cabinetry and a soft blue on the island lends a bright yet understated coastal feeling. Honey bronze hardware adds some glimmer and touch of modern. By mixing countertop materials on the perimeter and island, the eye is drawn to the bold veining that gives the space movement and contrast. The beautiful combination of subway tile and printed accent tile behind the stovetop make it a focal point.
