A New Layout Brings in Light
When you step into this kitchen you are immediately welcomed by an abundance of natural light. By removing a wall and extending the kitchen’s footprint, the expansive layout and open concept changed the look and accessibility within the kitchen creating an inviting atmosphere. Adding a large window and designing with a minimal amount of upper cabinetry gives the space a spacious appearance. To keep the kitchen functioning beautifully all major appliances are anchored on that same wall, creating a functional work triangle.
A Crisp Color Palette
The airy white cabinetry reflects all the natural light and creates a sense of spaciousness while the calming shade of deep blue chosen for the island gives this kitchen a signature New England feel. The choice of two-toned cabinetry offers a strong visual contrast and draws your eye to the exquisite design of the cabinetry. From the moment you step into the kitchen, the large island greets you with a place to sit, and a custom walnut wood top by Grothouse brings warmth and character to the space. Designing a kitchen that had plenty of surface space for food prep was at the heart of this kitchen design. The open layout creates plenty of walking space and creates a natural flow throughout the first floor. At the heart of this kitchen, the island offers generous room for meal prepping, casual dining, and entertaining, making it perfect for both family dinners and gatherings.
